Car repair

I have a 2003 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V. has 105000 miles on it. A good candidate for doing some upgrades right? ;) Found this site : http://repairpal.com/

Seems to have everything related to a car that I could ask for, want to check the Auto repair shops in San Francisco? Check this out : http://repairpal.com/san-francisco-auto-repair Click on Find a shop link and punch in your location, get a whole list of shops, sorted and by distance. Get the reviews of the shop and ratings as well!

Got to check out details about your car.. or want to see reviews of the car you want to buy, Click on the Car Info link.. Heres an example for a 2002 Honda Accord http://repairpal.com/honda-accord-2002 Full with owner reviews, Q &As, common problems, recalls and Technical service bulletins.
Then theres the encyclopedia, for details regarding anything related to cars. Want info on timing belt? Here it is..http://repairpal.com/timing-belt-replacement
So back to my Nissan sentra.. want to get a aux port on it.. weekend project.. lets see how this one goes. ;)

From my iPod

It started with SMS and I graduated to using the T9 dictionary soon. And now it has come to this.. A whole blog with my thumb.. :)
It's kind of reverse evolution ,.. they used to learn typing earlier to maximize use of all fingers to type.. Now it's the thumb doing all the work.. Becoming ANGOOTHA CHAP again :)

Waiting for Nokia...

I am waiting to buy a good mobile since a long time now. Got my last one, N97, in 2006. A sturdy phone packed with feature and a large screen. Large by standards at that time.. Used it a lot in India and in US for more than 2 years..
Phones here in US tend to be dumber than in India (my observation only.. no claims on this will be entertained :)).We have a huge choice of better phones in India than in US, maybe because of the technology or the marketing here. For example, you have to be on AT&T if you want to use your iphone (unless you plan to jailbreak)
Coming back to my phones... I am a Nokia person.. Other phones are just not usable.. tech gurus say symbian is slow and not user friendly.. but to me its the best phone OS (ok, i havent used android OS yet..). So, I am waiting for over a year for Nokia to catch up with Apple and release a touch screen phone. It did release one (5800 express edition).. but for me that was a half hearted effort, not the usual feature packed..
I had almost made up my mind to get the iphone or a netbook .. when Nokia announced the N900...
With features that rival netbooks and a whole new OS this phone promises a lot. Multitasking is something that is sorely missing in other smartphones.. A huge memory and a processor that is more powerful than the computer that I bought not so long ago.. A 5 Megapixel camera.. a gps..
no itunes gatekeeping your music and applications..
Connectivity and data sharing should be easy with USB, bluetooth, TV out, integrated FM transmitter..
1 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal memory, Web browsing on a mozilla core browser.. and the OS with a linux core places this little monster firmly on the netbook space..
With whatever is in the media.. I give it 5 stars!!
Waiting to get my hands on this one ...

Timex watches at Zappo.com

Timex brand is probably the most well known brand of watches that I know. Zappo now offers a wide variety of Timex watches on their website. The good thing about this website is that there are reviews of the watches by users themselves, people who have bought the timepieces. The sign up for the new styles keeps you updated on the new products coming up. A short history on the Timex brand adds to the appeal of the watches. Zappo offers free shipping both ways and a 365 day return policy which makes it a very attractive proposition.
On the flip side though, the website design has a lot of scope for improvement. The main page does not feature prices nor does the website have a feature to feature comparison. A good site if you want some information and reviews about the Timex products though.

Ice age 3 -3D

As 3D movies go.. this one is just OK. 3d movies thrive on getting the viewer involved, throwing things at them, surprising them.. this one had only some of that.. Maybe because this was released in its 2D version as well..
Not a great story line.. many funny moments though.. The actors did a good job.. Its amazing how emotions can be portrayed in animation.. "Peach" looked cute and lovely... so did the baby dinos..
The previews at the start of the movie were good.. The Cloudy with a chance of meatballs and Planet 51 look promising..
Movies here have ridiculously simple plot but fantastic execution.. Back home in India, we would not see such attempts.. mainly because no one will fund such initiatives.
Overall an evening well spent!
